Cortaca Jug
A friend emailed me this story that was in Newsweek last week. For all you IC students and alumni, it's an interesting take on our "favorite tradition."

For my part, I never joined in the festivities the way we were expected to. Freshman year I was on the softball team, and my ass was grass if my coach caught me drinking. After that, I was alway Athletic Training. I joked that I could FINALLY really enjoy Cortaca this year - but the truth is, I don't really feel like I missed out on anything. Maybe the comraderie of cheering for your team and a great game, but I tend to agree with a lot (not all) of what the guy in the Newsweek article says - it's less about the teams and more about the partying your ass off.
As a diehard fan of other sports - like the Red Sox, obviously - it's fun to have a few beers during the game, but more often than not I'm much more concerned with what's actually happening on the field than my Blood Alcohol Content. It helps that the beers in Fenway are $6.50, but that's beside the point.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. And, if you'd like to come down for a great football game - and maybe a few beers - Cortaca is at IC this year :-)

This game should be one of the best in the rivalry's history. Ithaca is in the top 10 in the National rankings, but Cortland certainly poses a serious threat to IC's undefeated season. Check out our blog site for the game and join the mayhem of the Cortaca Jug!
